Energy Northwest is seeking a Project Manager II–New Nuclear to lead development plans for new nuclear projects in a highly regulated environment. The role requires coordinating with client teams, guiding cost tracking, and ensuring governance compliance across all phases.

You will develop staffing estimates, manage budgets, and oversee contracts with vendors while maintaining risk controls and schedule integrity. This position offers strong retirement and health benefits in Washington state.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, project management, business, or related field and 14 years in a regulated environment with PM principles.
• Project Manager I: bachelor’s degree with 8 years PM experience in a regulated environment; 5 years in nuclear-related PM possible.
• PM certification is required.

Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY

Provide project management for the development of new nuclear generation. Create project development plans and schedules reflecting Energy Northwest governance policies and procedures. Develop project staffing needs, estimates, and funding plans including management of cost-tracking and invoicing in compliance with contracts. Coordinate and integrate with client project teams and schedules. Lead project teams made up of both internal and external members. Maintain a broad knowledge base of industry trends as related to assigned projects.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Project management for development for new nuclear generation, including creating development plans and schedules, understanding and following Energy Northwest governance policies and procedures; coordination and integration with client project teams to ensure effective support; hiring and managing of outside technical and other consultants. Develops the client project support plans and budgets, including tracking cost versus budget and ensuring costs and invoicing are in compliance with client contract requirements. Assures proper progress and focus through frequent interface with the client, staff, and related parties and management. Provide lead interface with enterprise risk management processes, including steering committees and risk review and oversight committees. Understand and maintain compliance with ERP procedures and develop and maintain necessary risk identification and mitigation documents. Develop and manage contracts and interface with vendors. Develops project schedules commensurate with project complexity and size with the goal of being able to manage risk, accurately track projects, enforce accountability, and manage critical path and float. Provide direction and oversight of administration and technical support assigned to projects.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Project Manager II - New Nuclear Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, construction, project management, business, or related field and fourteen years of increasing responsibility using project management principles in a multifaceted and/or regulated industrial environment OR a high school diploma or GED and eighteen years of project management experience in a multi-faceted and/or regulated industrial environment. An advanced degree in a related field of study or business may be accepted in lieu of two years of experience. Project Management certification is required.
• Project Manager I - New Nuclear Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, construction, project management, business, or related field and eight years of project management experience in a multifaceted and/or regulated industrial environment. OR Requires a high school diploma or GED and twelve years of project management experience in a multifaceted and/or regulated industrial environment. Five years of the required experience may be in a position within the nuclear industry which includes directing project management activities and/or using project management principles.

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Extensive work experience in the role of a project manager or direct supervisor in power generation/delivery, preferably within the following industries/sectors: nuclear, combined cycle, oil & gas, data centers. Experience in nuclear construction, advanced nuclear technologies, or large project management office (PMO) experience.

PAY RANGE

Project Manager II - New Nuclear Salary: $145,302 - $181,627

Project Manager I - New Nuclear Salary: $126,362 - $157,952 The salary listed represents the pay range for this position. Starting pay is calculated from the minimum of the salary range and actual individual placement within the range is determined based on the candidate's experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the role. The level and final offer will also take into account the candidate's overall qualifications.

INCENTIVE COMPENSATION

This position is eligible for an annual at-risk compensation (ARC) incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on agency performance against defined metrics and goals which follow eligibility rules within the ARC plan document.
