Job summary

Schindler Group in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Project Manager to oversee new installation projects, coordinate with field teams, and ensure on-time delivery of materials and approved submittals.

You will monitor project finances, manage change orders in SAP, and maintain critical customer relationships while upholding quality and safety standards. Bachelor’s degree preferred; 5+ years’ experience encouraged.

Your main responsibilities

Essential Function:

  • 1. Project Management - Oversee new installation projects to ensure efficient, profitable close-out. Provide approved submittals and ensure timely delivery of materials from vendors. Collaborate with the Field Superintendents to monitor job progress and address potential delays with action plans. Partner with Engineering and local & regional management for successful completion of the projectt. Maintain vendor relationships and assist with monthly forecasting and budget planning. Identify change notice opportunities, prepare paperwork, and secure customer approvals before work begins.
  • 2. Financial & Change Order Support - Monitor job financial performance, track invoice collections, bad debt and process progress payments.. Facilitate with project scope, prepare change order paperwork, and track changes in SAP to ensure proper documentation. Ensure projects are invoiced and achieve 90% - 95% payment before elevator turnover (dependent on contractual agreement).
  • 3. Customer Relationship Management - Establish and maintain critical customer relationships to support project success. Submit certified payroll, including tracking worker hours, wages, and fringe benefits in accordance with prevailing wage laws.
  • 4. Quality & Safety Compliance - Ensure compliance with customer and Schindler requirements for quality, performance, and passenger safety.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience:

  • Equivalent 5+ years of experience, preferably in a similar function or industry

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Familiarity with SAP and other project management software preferred

Base Salary $102,200-$153,200

The above represents the typical salary range for this position. Revisions to the range may be considered based on your experience, education, location, demonstrated skills, and alignment with business priorities. Please note that the compensation listed reflects only base salary and does not include commissions or longer-term incentives.

Salary range may differ based on the final geographic location of the position.
