Job summary

The candidate should bring 10–15 years of municipal engineering experience, strong communication and presentation skills, and a BS in Civil Engineering with PE license. Salary ranges are provided with competitive benefits.

Project Manager – Municipal Engineer (Administrative)

RVE (an Ardurra company) is seeking a Project Manager – Municipal Engineer in our Lehigh Valley, Allentown, PA office.

Municipal engineers design projects that improve the quality of life for those in the communities they serve. J.C. Remington, an early visionary in the industry, formed what is now RVE with the mission to deliver excellent client service by solving challenges faced by local municipalities. Over the last 120 years, we have we have served as Engineer of Record to Municipalities, Engineer and Planner to Municipalities and their Planning, Zoning and/or Land Use Boards, Board Consultant and Floodplain Manager.

Our team members include professional engineers, professional planners (AICP), licensed surveyors, GIS professionals, certified flood plain managers, environmental engineers and construction managers and inspectors.

Our full-service staff provides the complete breadth and depth of consulting services including professional design, planning and construction services for infrastructure capital improvements; environmental remediation; utilities collection and distribution; treatment design; public facility additions and renovations; park and recreation improvements; redevelopment and master planning projects. We also identify, pursue, and obtain grant funding for municipal projects through our in-house grants department.

Primary Function:

The Project Managerisa professional with 10-15 years of experience. This individual will design and/or manage a variety of infrastructure projects (ownedbymunicipalities and local school districts). Projects will include roads, underground utilities, public buildings, recreational facilities, and land use applications submitted byprivate developers.

Primary Duties:
  • Responsible for acting as the client manager to one or more municipalities or other public agencies. The client manager will act as the single point of contact between the firm and the client. He/she will supervise and coordinate all projects performed in the firm on behalf of the client, to the client's satisfaction.
  • Develop or implement engineering solutions toassist clients with improving and maintaining their infrastructure.
  • Design transportation, utility, facility, or hydraulic systems or structures (as appropriate) using computer assisted design or drawing tools.
  • Compute loadand grade requirements, water flow rates, or material stress factors to determine design specifications.
  • Estimate quantities andcost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, or other topographical or geologic data.
  • Conduct studies of traffic patterns or environmental conditions to identify engineering problems and assess potential project impact.
  • Perform all design activities ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, or other governmental regulations.
  • Identify environmental risks and develop risk management strategies for projects.
  • Attend regularly scheduled public meetings (conducted by Municipal clients) in the capacity of Municipal Engineer, or Land Use Board Engineer. Prepare and present public reports on topics such as bid proposals, project status reports and developmental review projects.
  • Provide technical advice to clients regarding design, construction, or capital program modifications.
  • Support of the field activities of our construction inspection staff, including providing timely data, shop drawing review, and client coordination.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Municipal Engineering experience preferred butnot required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to make public presentations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions to present to co-workers and clients.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of computer aided design software.
  • Ability to work in groups as well asindividually.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering froman accredited four-year college or university
  • PELicense Required

Salary Range: $92,000 - $151,800 annually.
