Position: Project Manager – Multi-Family/Mixed-Use, Commercial Site Engineering

In your role, you’ll be leading a dedicated team of professionals focused on serving multi-family and mixed-use clients and their projects. Your team will include a Project Engineer, Project Designer(s), and CAD Technicians. And, you will be supported by our in-house land surveying, sustainable design, and landscape architecture departments. Project Managers at Weihe build and strengthen external relationships with numerous people and entities while directing their internal team to ensure effective and cost-efficient designs.

- Your first 90 days are guided by a plan to get you comfortable and confident to perform at your highest level. This includes getting familiar with everyone that you’ll be leading as well as those you’ll be collaborating with, getting up to date on our standards and the Weihe way, stepping into your first projects, and leading client and agency communication.
- A typical week involves client and design team coordination, agency review meetings and the occasional public hearing, budget and schedule check-ins, project kick-off meetings, QA/QC reviews, and mentoring. You will also leverage Weihe University for meeting your career development goals.
- This is an in-office, client-facing role with periodic local travel to sites, agency meetings, and networking events.

Your Responsibilities
- Represents and interacts with clients, potential clients, government review agencies, architects, utility companies, contractors, sub-consultants, and others as needed
- Oversees site design team and process to ensure effective and cost-efficient designs
- Prepares (or assists) in preparing new project proposals
- Establishes, monitors, and ensures project budgets and production schedules are met
- Anticipates internal resource needs to support project schedules and communicates any resource constraints to supervisor
- Reviews billing worksheets in a timely manner and provides necessary information to the Accounting Department for prompt processing of monthly invoices
- Identifies and attends local networking events (professional and civic) for enhanced learning, building relationships, and increasing company brand awareness
- Provides crucial quality assurance and quality control of projects
- Mentors less experienced teammates
- Assures adherence to governmental, internal, client, and industry technical standards
What you bring (must-haves)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering Technology, Real Estate Development, or a related field OR, equivalent project management experience directly related to multi-family and/or mixed-use development
- Five (5) + years of direct civil engineering design experience or exposure specifically to multi-family and mixed-use site development (highly preferred)
- Proven planning skills that allow for the logical assignment of tasks to support staff to complete projects on schedule and within budget
- Comprehensive knowledge of site construction methods
- Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills that allow for professional communication with clients, contractors, and staff
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to speak effectively in front of public audiences and review boards
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and with a high level of accountability
- Ability to work in a team setting with a variety of people and a willingness to contribute when and where needed
Extras that certainly help (just not mandatory)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and other site design software
- Identifies and complete continuing education to maintain professional registration (if applicable)
Total compensation and benefits:
- Compensation includes salary, plus paid for hours over 40 in a week on bi-weekly basis, plus performance bonus check (not a retirement contribution). Your final offer will reflect your experience, credentials, and the value you bring.
