Giga Energy is seeking a Project Manager, Modular Data Center Delivery to own end-to-end delivery of the GigaBase modular data center product. You will coordinate engineering, procurement, factories, freight, and site teams to ensure on-time build, inspection, and handoff to construction.
You’ll collaborate with senior leadership, track progress across US and China time zones, and optimize schedules using AI tools where appropriate.
What you’ll do
The Project Manager, Modular Data Center Delivery owns the end-to-end delivery of GigaBase, Giga Energy’s modular data center product. GigaBase modules are manufactured in our internal and partner factories in China and delivered to data center sites we develop in the United States. From contract handoff to accepted delivery at site, you’ll own the plan that gets every module built, inspected, shipped and handed to our construction team on time.
In a highly cross-functional role, you’ll connect engineering, procurement, factories, freight and site teams into one dependable plan. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and be expected to explain at any moment what’s ordered, what’s being built, what’s moving, and what could put the date at risk.
Where you’ll work
This role will be based in our Houston offices. You must be willing to work in the office full-time, outside of our bi-weekly WFH Fridays. Travel to sites, factories and vendors is expected as projects require (up to ~20%), and the role includes coordination across US and China time zones.
Key Responsibilities
Build and own the integrated delivery schedule for each site, working backward from the site need date through inspection, freight, customs, production and purchase orders.
Turn signed scope and engineering inputs into a complete module and long-lead equipment plan; flag missing specifications early and assign owners.
Act as the primary point of contact with China product and procurement teams, factories, vendors and logistics partners to keep commitments on track.
Track order, production and shipping status and keep it current across all relevant systems.
Evaluate delivery options (ship, hold or re-sequence) with clear schedule and cost impacts, and elevate key decisions to leadership with a recommendation.
Manage scope changes and delivery risks: document what changed, who decides, and when the next decision is needed.
Hand off complete delivery information to construction, including arrival sequence, inspection status and open items.
Build repeatable processes and tracking tools, using AI where it helps, so the next project runs smoother than the last.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience delivering engineered equipment, manufactured products or capital-project packages, with personal ownership of schedule and results.
Experience coordinating overseas manufacturing or vendor teams, ideally in Asia.
Ability to build and maintain a linked delivery schedule covering long-lead procurement, manufacturing, inspection, freight, customs and site readiness.
Proven ability to hold cross-functional teams accountable without direct authority.
Sound judgment on trade-offs, scope changes and when to elevate.
Comfortable using AI tools daily, and knowing when to double-check the output.
Bonus points
Experience with data center, electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, gensets) or modular infrastructure delivery.
Mandarin proficiency.
