Job summary

Schindler Elevator Corporation (U.S.) is seeking a Project Manager – Modernization to coordinate with sales reps, customers, superintendents and engineering to ensure specifications are met and to deliver high-quality, financially sound installations and modernizations.

You will manage bookings, submittals, material delivery, change orders and invoicing, while leveraging strong leadership and communication skills to build client relationships and drive project success in Seattle and the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or 3+ years in elevator industry or related field.
  • Prior project management experience preferred.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role preferred.
  • Solid problem-solving skills, high sense of urgency, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in building and managing client relationships; organized and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Manage new installation/modernization projects to meet efficiency and profitability levels.
  • Review and book projects within one week of award; provide an action plan if dates cannot be met.
  • Provide approved submittals to Engineering and/or local vendors; coordinate material delivery.
  • Interface with Field Superintendent to track progress and notify of delays; provide action plan.
  • Seek change notice opportunities; prepare change orders and obtain customer sign-off before work begins.
  • Ensure timely invoicing and target 90% payment before elevator turnover.
  • Participate in professional development programs to enhance knowledge of products, services and procedures.

Project Manager – Modernization (MOD)

As a Schindler Project Manager, the role involves working with sales reps and customers to ensure specifications are met, collaborating with superintendents and engineering to resolve technical problems, and coordinating with local and region management to deliver high‑quality, financially successful installations and modernizations.

Essential Functions
  • Follow and accurately manage new installation/modernization projects to ensure that projects close‑out at the required efficiency and profitability levels
  • Review and book projects within one (1) week of award, notifying the Manager if required completion dates cannot be met, and providing an action plan and timeframe for completion
  • Provide approved submittals to Schindler Engineering and/or local vendors following project booking; coordinate and follow up with factory, local vendors and superintendent on the delivery of project material to ensure that all required material is ready prior to project start date
  • Interface with the Field Superintendent to track job progress and notify manager if required completion dates cannot be met; provide an action plan and timeframe for completion
  • Seek change notice opportunities; prepare all change order paperwork and forward to the customer in a timely manner; follow up on change orders, receive signed change orders from the customer prior to any related work being completed
  • Ensure timely invoicing and ensure projects are invoiced and paid to 90% before elevator turnover
  • Participate in Company professional development programs to enhance working knowledge of Elevator Company products, services and procedures
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or minimum 3 years of technical or sales experience in the elevator industry or related field
  • Prior project management experience preferred
  • 3+ years' experience in a leadership role preferred
  • Solid problem‑solving skills, high sense of urgency, strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in building and managing client relationships
  • Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Experience managing timelines, scheduling, and budgets
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office & Excel
Compensation

Base Salary $113,400 – $141,700 (typical range; may vary based on experience, education, location, skills and business priorities). Compensation listed is base salary only; no commissions or long‑term incentives included.
