Our client, an RTP area firm that provides consulting and project management services to pharmaceutical companies across the globe, is actively recruiting for an exceedingly competent and self-directed candidate, with particular strength in Manufacturing and Engineering Operations, to join its Client Services team.

This firm is engaged by pharmaceutical and other life science companies to direct Capital Projects and Operational Excellence initiatives. Consultants are embedded in client companies and drive the planning and execution of these projects. These are major and costly undertakings.

This role will involve serving as a Project Manager on the launch of a multi-billion-dollar pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The Operational Excellence team is developing plans that will ensure optimal buildout, operational readiness, supply chain and production processes. This Consultant/Project Manager will be critically involved in that effort.

Things to Note:

  • The focus of the role is to drive the Operational Readiness efforts of several units of the facility start-up. This PM will ensure that all divisions (Validation, Engineering, Quality, Ops, etc.) are working in sync. This is a major, complex and costly undertaking with infinite moving parts. We seek a proactive, savvy and tenacious Project Manager. Bkgd in pharma manufacturing, process engineering, lean technique, and supply chain best practices all preferred. Extensive PM experience essential.
  • The Project Teams partner with client personnel to develop Action Plans for each stage of the project. This PM will drive the day-to-day management of the plan, and will troubleshoot all surprises and delays. We seek a skilled and savvy leader of cross-functional teams.
  • This is a high profile, high impact role. This PM will be a key liaison with the client and will be instrumental in ensuring the project moves forward aggressively and according to the standards and expectations set out. The PM will be a troubleshooter and a problem-solver. We seek a go-getter who overcomes obstacles and makes things happen.
  • This is a highly collaborative role. This Project Manager will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative, cooperative and focused cross-functional team. We seek an outstanding communicator and relationship-builder.
  • This role will be on-site, in the Raleigh-Durham area. Some overtime hours expected.

Targeted candidate will offer a BS/BA degree and 5+ years of related experience, including substantial experience in manufacturing/technical operations (pharmaceutical facilities preferred). Some background with Operational Excellence initiatives and Lean Manufacturing technique would be valuable.
