Qualifications

Job description

Piper Companies is seeking a Project Manager - Manufacturing to support a leading organization in the advanced connectivity, semiconductor, and electronics manufacturing industry on‑site in Santa Clara, CA. The ideal Project Manager - Manufacturing will lead critical new product introduction and development initiatives, ensuring programs are executed efficiently, meet customer expectations, and align with organizational goals around quality, cost, and schedule.

Responsibilities of the Project Manager - Manufacturing
  • Lead and coordinate new product development projects from concept through production release.
  • Define project objectives, milestones, schedules, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
  • Provide project leadership across engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.
  • Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, delivering regular updates on project status, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Facilitate project meetings, maintain action‑item tracking, and ensure accountability across teams.
  • Partner with vendors and suppliers to support procurement activities and critical material deliveries.
  • Identify resource requirements and proactively address constraints that could impact timelines.
  • Monitor project budgets, cost targets, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) initiatives to improve production readiness.
  • Coordinate capacity planning and operational readiness activities to meet forecasted customer demand.
  • Drive process improvements and establish workflows necessary to support successful product launches.
  • Manage project risks, change requests, and issue resolution efforts to keep initiatives on track.
Qualifications of the Project Manager - Manufacturing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or another related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of project management experience within electronics manufacturing, semiconductor, telecommunications, or related industries.
  • Proven experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or new product development (NPD) programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience utilizing project management methodologies, tools, and reporting systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other business software applications.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in cross‑functional environments.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management training is a plus.
Compensation for the Project Manager - Manufacturing
  • Salary range: $70,000 – $100,000 annually
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off
