Role Summary

The Aptitude Project Manager 2 will be responsible for constructability reviews, conceptual estimating, consultation, bid pricing, project management, change management, and coordinating with project teams on technology or Aptitude scopes of work. This position is expected to be a subject matter expert, demonstrating strong leadership, communication, and project management skills to effectively integrate technology scopes on projects. All activities will support JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

APTITUDE PROJECT MANAGEMENT FAMILY - CORE

  • Supports all aspects of the company's safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
  • Coordinates technology-related design and construction efforts that meet constructability, quality, financial, and technical standards.
  • Provides technical expertise related to design assist, installation, and network integration of systems.
  • Creates technology-specific scopes of work and responsibility matrices tailored to projects.
  • Performs quantity takeoffs and obtains vendor & trade partner pricing for budgets or hard bid proposals.
  • Manages budgets, costs, and projections related to projects.
  • Assists with the development, dissemination, accountability, and discipline of Aptitude processes and standards.
  • Leads, coaches, and motivates team members, aligning with JE Dunn's Strategic Objectives and Core Values.
  • Supports deployment of Aptitude strategies for project delivery to meet financial, quality, and performance objectives.
  • Participates in communication programs and strategy sessions to enhance marketing, sales, and delivery of technology services.
  • Manages budgets, schedules, staffing, billing, and collections for projects.
  • Develops and manages project plans and schedules to achieve scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Tracks and reports progress on milestones, communicates issues, and resolves them promptly.
  • Ensures proper management and archiving of project documents upon completion.
Additional Responsibilities

In addition, this position will:

  • Manage the technology consulting process with clients and contractors.
  • Initiate business development activities to grow Aptitude's contribution.
  • Support project pursuits to maximize Aptitude's value to customers.
  • Identify and develop new technologies supporting the Smart Building offering.
  • Facilitate internal and external training on Aptitude offerings.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational activities.
  • Engage with civic organizations to establish Aptitude as a differentiator.
  • Assist in staffing by recruiting, selecting, and training employees.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and timely.
  • Intermediate communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to develop project proposals, fees, and work plans.
  • Strong personal and interpersonal skills as a self-starter.
  • Thorough knowledge of project processes.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate internally and externally.
  • Ability to manage budgets and build relationships for future work.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, IT, or related field (Required).
  • Equivalent relevant experience considered.
  • 8+ years experience in IT/Security/Life Safety systems (Required).
  • 5+ years project management experience (Required).
Working Environment
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • May require travel or relocation.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours.
  • Exposure to extreme conditions possible.
  • Work may be at project sites or in offices.
  • Frequent sitting; occasional standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling.
