Role Summary

The Aptitude Project Manager 2 will be responsible for constructability reviews, conceptual estimating, consultation, bid pricing, project management, change management, and coordinating with project teams on technology or Aptitude scopes of work. This position is expected to be a subject matter expert, demonstrating strong leadership, communication, and project management skills to effectively integrate technology scopes on selected projects. All activities will support the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

APTITUDE PROJECT MANAGEMENT FAMILY - CORE

  • Supports all aspects of the company's safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
  • Coordinates technology-related design and construction efforts to meet standards.
  • Provides technical expertise related to design assist, installation, and network integration of systems.
  • Creates technology-specific scopes of work and responsibility matrices for projects.
  • Performs quantity takeoffs and obtains vendor & trade partner pricing for budgets or proposals.
  • Manages budgets, costs, and projections for projects.
  • Assists with development, dissemination, and discipline of Aptitude processes and standards.
  • Leads, coaches, and motivates team members, aligning with JE Dunn's values.
  • Supports Aptitude strategies for project delivery to meet financial, quality, and performance goals.
  • Participates in communication programs and strategy sessions to market and deliver technology services.
  • Manages budgets, schedules, staffing, billing, and collections for projects.
  • Develops and manages project plans and schedules to meet objectives.
  • Tracks and reports progress on milestones, communicates issues, and resolves them promptly.
  • Ensures proper management and archiving of project documents.
Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

APTITUDE PROJECT MANAGER 2

  • Manages the technology consulting process between JE Dunn, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Initiates business development activities to grow Aptitude's contribution.
  • Participates in project pursuits to maximize Aptitude's value.
  • Identifies and develops new technologies supporting the Smart Building offering.
  • Facilitates training to raise awareness of Aptitude offerings.
  • Maintains professional knowledge through workshops and networking.
  • Engages with civic organizations and municipalities to promote Aptitude as a differentiator.
  • Assists in staff recruitment, selection, orientation, and training.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and timely.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct presentations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to develop project proposals, fees, and work plans.
  • Strong personal and interpersonal skills, self-starter with follow-through.
  • Thorough knowledge of project processes.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, IT, or related field (Required).
  • Equivalent relevant experience considered.
Experience
  • 8+ years in IT/Security/Life Safety systems.
  • 5+ years project management experience.
Working Environment
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel and/or relocation may be required.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours.
  • Exposure to extreme conditions possible.
  • Work may be at project sites or in the office.
  • Sitting, viewing screens; occasional standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling.
