Job description

Overview

This at-will position participates in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversees its organization, scheduling and implementation. The Project Manager is responsible for representing Wasatch Taylormade Builders with clients and consultants on virtually any range of subjects related to construction and making decisions on behalf of Wasatch Taylormade Builders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Direct and supervise workers.
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
  • Select, contract, and oversee workers who complete specific pieces of the project, such as painting or plumbing.
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress and cost tracking reports.
  • Develop and implement quality control programs.
  • Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at the construction site.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities concerning the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
  • Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
  • Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans.
  • Ultimately be responsible for ensuring the project is completed on schedule and within budget.
Safety Responsibilities

Learn and ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal safety rules. Ensure that unsafe conditions are reported immediately to management.

Additional Requirements

Attendance is an imperative job function. Employees must fulfill the performance standards of this position and comply with the policies, rules, and procedures of Wasatch Taylormade Builders, including those set out in the Employee Handbook, or otherwise communicated (verbally or in writing) to employees. Assist with other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum qualifications: BA or BS degree from an accredited college (or 3 years of related experience).
  • Skill in analyzing problems, developing alternatives, and implementing effective strategies.
  • Must be detail-oriented, flexible, and able to multitask.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and computer proficiency. Computer skills should include word processing, spreadsheets, and accounting software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job requires regularly lifting or pushing up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting or pushing more than 25 pounds or exerting heavy force, in a wide variety of environmental conditions. The job involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, etc.
