Job description

The Charleston Orwig Collective is 100% employee-owned and consists of the strategic marketing communications agencies, C.O.nxt and Jigsaw. From brand strategy and comprehensive campaigns to sustainability and crisis comms. From digital and video to social media and public relations. If you need it to help your brand move forward, we’ve done it. And because the world is changing at record pace, we’re already working to harness the next big thing.

Position Description

As a Project Manager, you will be a critical link between our clients and our agency, coordinating work for brands that serve beef, dairy, swine and poultry producers and processors, along with the influencers and advisors who support them. Your mission will be to understand your clients’ goals, anticipate their needs and keep work on track with budgets and deadlines. The role calls for comfort with the language of animal agriculture and an interest in how these operations work. Your livestock industry expertise, paired with the agency’s resources, will help meet agency and client needs and build the foundation for you to grow into a trusted day-to-day resource. You’ll end each day knowing you were part of great work for clients who serve the livestock industry.

Who We’re Looking For
  • A background in livestock agriculture, through a family farm or ranch, 4-H or FFA, an animal science degree or industry work
  • An eye for the details producers notice, such as timing that misses the season or imagery that shows the wrong biosecurity practice
  • Interest in learning the technical side of agriculture for greater industry knowledge and client resource
What Makes This a Great Opportunity?
  • You will be part of a purpose-driven, team-based agency that is a strategic marketing and communications consultant for leading brands in livestock and animal agriculture.
  • Our culture of positive core values (Empowering, Purpose-driven, Forward-thinking and Inclusive) guides our interactions with clients and each other.
  • Work alongside a team with deep agriculture experience on brands that matter to the livestock industry.
  • We’re 100% employee-owned (and dog-friendly).
  • We provide a continuous learning environment valuing ideas, solutions, collaboration and results.
  • Find your balance in a casual, friendly, hybrid work environment with flexible work hours.
  • Client Service First: Stay focused on client goals and relationship needs while managing day-to-day account service and partnering with senior team members to keep work on track.
  • Manage Projects: Manage marketing and communications projects across branding, creative, research, media, digital, social, PR, planning and events. Own project details, timelines and deliverables to ensure work stays within scope, budget and deadlines.
  • Stay Close to Clients: Meet regularly with clients to understand their priorities, industries, project requirements and future needs. Serve as a key liaison between the client and agency, ensuring clear, consistent communication.
  • Know Livestock and the Business: Bring and keep building a strong understanding of the livestock industry and your client’s business, including species-specific production practices, animal health and nutrition, audiences, priorities, competitive landscape and industry trends, to help inform the work.
  • Support Industry Events: Help plan and coordinate client and agency participation at key livestock events such as World Pork Expo, World Dairy Expo, NCBA and IPPE, owning logistics, materials and deadlines.
  • Collaborate & Create: Partner with cross-functional agency teams to implement strategies, ideas and campaign elements that support client objectives.
  • Present & Communicate: Participate in client meetings and presentations, and keep clients and internal teams informed on status, decisions and next steps.
  • Stay Curious: Stay current on marketing trends and the issues shaping animal agriculture, from disease prevention and animal welfare policy to sustainability and market swings, bringing fresh ideas and relevant opportunities to the team and client.
  • Manage Multiple Priorities: Juggle multiple accounts and projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Solve Problems Proactively: Anticipate challenges and help resolve issues as they arise, keeping projects moving and relationships strong.
  • Manage Budgets and Timelines: Monitor budgets and project scope and support accurate, timely invoicing in partnership with senior team members and accounting. Maintain timelines, status reports and project documentation so clients and agency teams are clear on deliverables, responsibilities and next steps.
  • Own the Agency Process: Follow agency processes and best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality execution while helping improve how we work as the agency evolves.
