Project Manager, Land Development - Tacoma, WA
Join David Evans and Associates, Inc. as a Land Development Civil Engineering Project Manager, overseeing residential, commercial, and mixed‑use projects in the Puget Sound region.
What You’ll Do
- Lead land development projects from conception to completion, including site planning, design, permitting, and construction administration.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, planners, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- Conduct site feasibility studies, land use analysis, zoning reviews, and environmental assessments.
- Prepare engineering design calculations, plans, and specifications for grading, utilities, stormwater, and erosion control.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Coordinate design consultants, contractors, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to deliver within scope and budget.
- Perform site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance.
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues to ensure successful project delivery.
- Communicate project status, updates, and issues to clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Lead business development efforts by maintaining and growing client relationships in the private sector.
- Develop pursuit strategies for new project opportunities, including proposals, interviews, and negotiations.
- Drive projects involving platting, subdivision design, and entitlement processes for commercial, multifamily, and master‑planned communities.
What You Bring
- Minimum 15 years of experience in private‑sector land development, including at least 5 years leading projects involving platting, commercial site development, and mixed‑use work.
- Proven track record of developing new business and negotiating profitable project awards in the Puget Sound region.
- Registered Engineer in the State of Washington.
- Active industry BD association membership(s) desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
