Job summary

RK&K is seeking a motivated Land Development Project Manager to join our Richmond, VA team. You will lead land and site development projects across Central Virginia, directing project teams and coordinating with clients to ensure scope, budget, and schedule alignment.

This role offers relocation assistance and a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates, with an annual bonus program and a hybrid work arrangement combining home and office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer registration required; VA PE preferred or ability to obtain.
• Minimum eight (8) years of progressive site/land development design and engineering experience in public/private sectors.
• Experience managing staff and interacting with clients.
• Experience preparing proposals and change orders.
• Knowledge of permit processes in authorities having jurisdiction.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint; AutoCAD Civil 3D expertise.
• Experience with AutoDesk Hydraflow, HydroCAD, Storm & Sanitary Analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

Due to continued growth and expansion, RK&K is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Land Development Project Manager to join our team and support our Richmond, VA office. In this leadership role, you will manage land and site development projects of varying sizes throughout the Richmond metropolitan area and Central Virginia, while providing leadership and direction to project teams. For qualified candidates, this position is eligible for relocation assistance and a sign-on bonus. In addition, employees are eligible to participate in RK&K's annual bonus program based on individual and company performance.

Essential Functions

• Provide project management of project and/or major task assignments including preparation and monitoring of scope, budget and schedule
• Coordinate with clients to discuss progress and obtain feedback and direction
• Perform engineering tasks; provide engineering direction to staff
• Organize project teams, direct project staff and sub consultants
• Review and certify engineering documents to meet quality control goals and standards of care
• Lead community outreach tasks
• Serves as primary or secondary liaison with client
• Facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approval of plans

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering required
• Professional Engineering registration required: (Preferred VA PE or ability to obtain one)
• Involvement in industry and networking groups preferred
• Minimum of eight (8) (10 years preferred) of progressive site (land) development design and engineering experience in the public and private sectors
• Experience managing staff and regularly interacting with clients
• Experience preparing proposals & add services for changes in scope of work
• Expert knowledge of permit processes in authorities having jurisdiction
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint; Expertise in AutoCAD C3D
• Experience with AutoDesk Hydraflow, HydroCAD, Storm & Sanitary Analysis preferred
