Vanir Construction Management, Inc. is hiring a Construction Project Manager in San Diego to lead planning and direction of PM activities, ensuring alignment with owner needs, cost and schedule. You may supervise project staff and coordinators.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture and 5+ years of PM experience with design-build delivery. Proficiency with MS Office and document control systems is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent is required (extensive experience may be considered in place of education).
• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager is required.
• Design-build or progressive design-build experience is required; essential services/fire/police stations preferred.

Responsabilités

• Primary liaison for owner and partner entities on contract, design, systems and deliverables.
• Develop project procedures and documentation; consult with Owner on design and contracts.
• Knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specs to ensure compliance.
• Manage data, information, communications, and approvals among owner, architects, engineers, and related parties.
• Represent owner in meetings and public forums; lead project controls, costs, scheduling and closeout.

Job Description

The Construction Project Manager provides the planning, coordination, and direction for project management activities to ensure they meet owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule.May supervise office/field administrative staff, project/field engineers, assistant project/construction managers, and other assigned staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Primary contact and liaison for owner and principal partner entities for the contract, design, systems, procedures and related deliverables
• Develops project specific procedures and documentation, and may consult with Owner on design and construction contracts and related A/E systems for the project
• Functional knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure compliance with construction/project requirements
• Obtains, maintains, and manages data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and company requirements between owner, architects, engineers, and other project-related entities
• Represents owner, project and related parties in public forums and meetings
• Manages project controls, cost, and performance activities and procedures, project logistics, organization, systems and project closeout
• Leads in project meetings to include documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses
• May coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of construction management staff, contractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities
• Manages bid phase services, as may be required by the client
• Performs other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent is required(Extensive relevant project management experience in place of education may be considered)
• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager is required
• Design-build or progressive design build required (Essential Services, Fire or Police Stations strongly preferred)
• Knowledge and application of project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts and delivery methods are required
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related systemsare required
• Proficiency with various document control systems, as well as new construction and modernization is preferred
• Registration as an Architect or Professional Engineer is preferred
• Certified Construction Manager preferred
