Job summary

ARCO/Murray National Construction in Chicago is seeking a results-driven Project Manager to lead preconstruction through closeout, ensuring project performance and client satisfaction. You will coordinate budgets, schedules, and subcontractor buyouts while partnering with design teams to develop concepts and control costs.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or related field.
  • 2-10 years of construction management or engineering design experience.
  • Experience leading ground-up commercial, light industrial, hospitality, or entertainment projects preferred.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of the project from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Work with clients and design team to develop concept drawings and project budget.
  • Participate in proposal meetings to review scope, reduce costs, and negotiate contracts and fees.
  • Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout for trades and vendors.
  • Identify opportunities to procure materials or equipment to meet budget or schedule.
  • Coordinate with the Project Superintendent on subcontractor scopes, schedule, and site logistics.
  • Lead preconstruction planning meetings to solve constructability or sequencing issues.
  • Lead weekly OAC meetings on-site to review progress with the client.
  • Track performance vs budget; prepare pay apps, cost status, and progress reports.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
  • Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of the project from the earliest stages of preconstruction through project closeout
  • Work closely with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget
  • Participate in the proposal meeting with clients to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees
  • Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors
  • Identify and investigate opportunities to procure material and/or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to project budget or schedule
  • Work with Project Superintendent to develop and review subcontractor scopes of work/contracts, project schedule, and site logistics plan
  • Lead preconstruction planning meetings with all designers, subcontractors and vendors aimed at solving potential constructability, sequencing, and/or manpower issues
  • Lead weekly/bi-weekly OAC meetings on-site once construction begins to review progress and address challenges directly with client
  • Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Engineering or related field
  • 2-10 years of construction management or engineering design experience
  • Previous experience leading ground-up commercial, light industrial, hospitality, or entertainment construction projects is preferred
  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project

  • Typical base compensation for the Project Manager role is between $84,000.00 and $160,000.00. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company performance.
