Job summary

ARCO is seeking a Project Manager/Assistant Project Manager in Emeryville, CA to lead projects from design through completion. You will coordinate with clients, design teams, and subcontractors to meet scope, budget, and schedule.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or related field.
  • 0-3 years of construction management or engineering design experience.
  • Previous experience leading ground-up commercial, light industrial, hospitality, or entertainment construction projects is preferred.
  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of the project from the earliest stages of preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Work closely with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget.
  • Participate in the proposal meeting with clients to review the scope of work, discuss cost-saving measures, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees.
  • Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors.
  • Identify opportunities to procure material or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to project budget or schedule.
  • Collaborate with the Project Superintendent to develop and review subcontractor scopes, schedule, and site logistics plan.
  • Lead preconstruction planning meetings with designers, subcontractors and vendors to solve constructability, sequencing, or manpower issues.
  • Lead weekly/bi-weekly OAC meetings on-site to review progress and address challenges with the client.
  • Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Typical base compensation for the Project Manager role is between $100,000.00 and $120,000.00. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company performance.
