Description

The Project Manager - Industrial Packaging is responsible for purchasing raw material, converted material, and receiving for a specific subset of customers for the Industrial Packaging Team. In addition, full responsibility of reviewing open stock and drop purchase order reports, plus the processing of return purchase orders. Expediting may be required as needed.
  • Placing purchase orders for raw & converted materials (finished goods), verify the freight terms, delivery date, notes, and adjust as needed.
  • The conversion process is ordered and maintained in a specific module utilized exclusively by the Industrial Packaging Team.
  • Receive the purchase orders in the conversion module and the ERP system.
  • Process and review open drop and stock purchase orders reports to close out orders.
  • Maintain inventory levels for raw material at specified Industrial Packaging Vendors / warehouses.
  • Manage communication with vendor, project managers, client service representatives and sales team.
  • Enter and manage Warehouse Transfers for finished goods and raw material.
  • Work with warehouses to help resolve any inventory discrepancies.
  • Processing Return Merchandise Purchase Orders (RMPOs)
  • Must thoroughly understand total cost of ownership of items.
  • Hold suppliers accountable to Shorr's shipping, packaging, and label requirements.
  • Maintain unavailable inventory.
  • Resolve invoice issues with the Accounts Payable team.
  • Assist the Project Managers in producing Customer ASNs.
  • Provide back-up coverage for Project managers.
  • Process Scrap Orders for raw material usage in production of finished goods.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

The targeted compensation for this position is between $65k-$75k base plus targeted bonus, depending on skills and experience of the selected candidate.
This position is a remote position, and the candidate must be located in EST or CST time zone.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or a minimum of five years packaging industry experience preferably as a customer service rep, sales assistant, sales professional or buyer; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prefer experience in purchasing or procurement
  • Microsoft Office with emphasis on Outlook, Word, Excel, and Smartsheet
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to act without direction
  • Strong knowledge of SXe and elements within (preferred)
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service driven
