Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Facilities Buyer II to support facilities operations, maintenance activities, and capital improvement projects across multiple sites. This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing contracts for facilities-related goods and services while ensuring suppliers deliver quality products and services on time and within budget.
The ideal candidate will have a strong procurement background supporting facilities, construction, MRO, manufacturing, or real estate operations and possess expertise in supplier management, contract negotiations, and strategic sourcing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage suppliers and internal stakeholders to support facilities operations, maintenance, and capital improvement projects.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for facilities-related goods and services.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Quote (RFQs).
- Conduct cost and price analyses and develop negotiation strategies to achieve best value.
- Negotiate and manage various contract types, including:
- Service Agreements
- Construction Contracts
- Long-Term Agreements (LTAs)
- Time & Material (T&M) Contracts
- Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Contracts
- Lead supplier selection, qualification, performance management, and contract administration activities.
- Manage the procurement lifecycle from requisition creation through invoice payment and issue resolution.
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives for MRO, building services, facilities maintenance, and capital equipment categories.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality, safety, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Facilities, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Legal.
- Support procurement metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain experience.
- Experience supporting facilities, construction, manufacturing, real estate, or industrial operations.
- Strong supplier relationship management and contract negotiation experience.
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Experience managing multiple contract types, including FFP, T&M, and service agreements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret Statements of Work (SOWs), equipment specifications, and building drawings.
