Job summary

Vertafore, headquartered in Denver, CO, seeks a Project Manager II to oversee client enhancements, system bugs, and project requests across development and professional services. You will communicate feasibility, scope, costs, and timelines while ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and strong client relationships.

The role requires extensive PM experience, stakeholder management, and collaboration across IT, marketing, and services. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant business experience.
  • Five years of project management experience.
  • Five years of client facing business analysis or product management experience involving IT, marketing, customer service, HR, and development.
  • Proven ability to manage maintenance requests and multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Tech Support on client requests intake.
  • Manage projects, resources, timelines, and budgets with Professional Services.
  • Collaborate across internal teams and departments.
  • Communicate feasibility, cost estimates and timelines to clients.
  • Coordinate between clients and developers for clarity.
  • Prioritize and schedule enhancements/projects for developers.
  • Coordinate with internal staff and third parties for cross-team work.
  • Manage issues and risks that arise.
  • Own client relationships and act as primary contact and escalation point.
  • Maintain regular communication and calls to identify priorities and provide updates.

The Project Manager II role is responsible for the management of work both within the development team and also for the professional services implementation team. They are responsible for the intake and management of client enhancements, system bugs, and project requests. They are responsible for communicating feasibility, creation of scope of work documents, costs, scheduled timelines and potential delays to clients. They are responsible for resourcing the project team and ensuring work is being completed on time and within budget. They are responsible for owning and maintaining client relationships.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Tech Support on the intake of client requests
  • Work closely with professional services implementation team on managing projects, resources, timelines, and budgets
  • Strong ability to collaborate with internal teams and across departments
  • Communicate feasibility, cost estimates and scheduled timelines to clients
  • Coordinate between clients and developers to obtain clarity around request or issues, utilizing the most appropriate communication method
  • Prioritize and schedule enhancements/projects for developers to work on
  • Coordinate between internal staff, as well as third parties, to work together on items that require cross-team coordination
  • Manage issues and risks that arise
  • Own client relationships and act as a necessary point of contact and escalation for said clients
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients through regular communication and scheduled calls to identify priorities, provide updates and discuss issues
  • Learn basic navigation and troubleshooting skills, specific to the IMS system

Skills And Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant business experience
  • At least five years of project management experience
  • At least five years of client facing business analysis experience or product management experience, involving IT, marketing, customer service, human resources, and development
  • Proven experience successfully managing maintenance requests and/or multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail required with excellent follow-through
  • Nice to haves:
    • Knowledge of Kanban
    • At least two years of experience in the insurance or financial services industry

Commission plans
