Job summary

PowerSecure is seeking a Project Manager II to lead the installation of DI equipment, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and budget adherence. You will oversee project initiation, procurement, budget and schedule control, and closeout, coordinating with GCs, subcontractors, and internal resources to meet specifications.

Travel about 50%+ and strong communication, document interpretation, and leadership are essential to drive successful project execution in the energy sector.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management or similar with 4+ years in the industry.
  • Alternate: High School Diploma with 8+ years experience in construction/energy.
  • Proficient reading/writing in English; communicate with GC and subs.
  • Able to read and interpret construction documents; use office software.
  • Strong organizational and scheduling/budget skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe, healthy work sites per standards and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate and lead Initial Project Meetings (IPM).
  • Review contracts, assess pricing, develop budgets and schedules.
  • Facilitate Production/Procurement releases for manufacturing.
  • Lead project meetings with customer, utility, subs, and internal teams.
  • Ensure timely execution of project schedule and safe installation.
  • Communicate with Senior Staff to ensure on-budget, on-time delivery.

Job description

The primary duties of the Project Manager (II) are to ensure the installation of the DI equipment is completed safely, on time, on budget, and within the specifications of the project. The PM will be responsible for project initiation, production/procurement oversight, budget control, schedule control, and project closeout.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):
  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar AND 4+ years of experience in respective industry. Or, a minimum of a High School Diploma with 8+ years of experience in construction, energy industries would be considered.
  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Experience in working with General Contractors and subcontractors
  • Experience supervising Construction Manager(s), Subcontractors, and Internal Resources
  • CAPM or PMP not required, but preferred
  • Ability to use computer and proficient with standard office software
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents
  • Must be punctual, organized, and professional
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of project management, construction process, schedule development, and budget acumen
  • Ability to identify and manage priorities with urgency, while maintaining high quality and customer service
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain safe and healthy work sites by following company standards and procedures and complying with legal requirements
  • Coordinate and Lead Initial Project Meetings (IPM)
  • Responsible for contract review, sales pricing assessment and budget development, project schedule creation, and implementation plan
  • Facilitate Production/Procurement Release for manufacturing
  • Coordinate and Lead project meetings with customer, utility, subcontractors, and/or other
  • Proficiently understand all aspects of project and adequately manage the installation
  • Properly coordinate with respective parties for timely execution of project schedule
  • Properly communicate with Senior Staff to ensure each project is installed safely, timely, and on budget
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Travel required (50%+), must be willing and able to drive company vehicle and/or fly commercially if necessary
  • Must be able to stand or walk for 3‑4 hours at a time
  • Exposure to sitting for extended periods
  • Exposure to weather in varying climates
  • Exposure to noise intensity levels
  • Exposure to energized electrical equipment
  • Exposure to overhead hazards (crane & rigging)
  • Exposure to heavy machinery
