Job summary

DBI Construction Consultants LLC in Houston seeks an experienced Project Manager II to ensure timely completion of building consulting projects, evaluate damaged structures, and prepare scopes of repair and cost projections.

The role requires 5–7 years in construction/restoration, travel up to 25%, and proficiency with Xactimate, RS Means, Bluebeam Revu, Primavera and MS Projects. You will lead a small team and maintain client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred.
  • 5–7 years of experience within construction, restoration, and/or property insurance related fields preferred.
  • Travel +/- 25% of the workweek.
  • Experience with Xactimate, RS Means, Bluebeam Revu, Primavera and MS Projects preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed budgets, estimates, and proposals across lump sum, unit rate, and cost-plus formats.
  • Manage project timelines, schedules, and resource allocation to meet delivery commitments.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead and manage a small team on low to medium complex projects.
  • Organize project teams and maintain effective relationships with staff, consultants, and clients.
  • Identify risk exposures and resolve complex technical issues as they arise.
  • Enforce department standards for deliverables, budget tracking, and project documentation.
  • Ensure the flow of project information is maintained and documented.

DBI’s construction experts provide independent recommendations and analysis to clients in the insurance and legal industries. In a complex industry, the company’s mission is to bring clarity to every client served by DBI through hard evidence, expertise, and accuracy.What is the role?The Project Manager II is responsible for ensuring the timely and costly completion of building consulting projects. Willingness to travel +/- 25% of the workweekDesire to work in a fast-paced, in-person environment.Experience working with Xactimate, RS Means, Bluebeam Revu, Primavera and MS Projects preferredPossess a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving recordSKILLS AND ABILITIESMotivated, detail oriented, and ready to take on challengesStrong verbal and written communication skillsMicrosoft Office suite, especially ExcelAbility to observe issues and suggest innovative solutionsSelf-directed with the ability to be an effective team leader and maintain a professional demeanorProven organizational skills with exemplary time managementTechnically astute and strong problem-solving skillsAbility to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditionsWORKING CONDITIONS:Our business requires work to be performed at the site of the property damage, including locations where disasters or catastrophes have previously occurred.This team member may be required to work in elevated areas such as roofs or scaffolding, requiring physical agility, and balance. During busy periods, this may require evening, overnight, and/or weekend travel and work.Our teams are provided with safety gear and PPE as they may be subject to, but not limited to: outdoor extreme heat, cold, and precipitation; indoor noise, vibrations, proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.This team member may be required to work in close quarters, crawl spaces, small enclosed rooms, narrow aisles, passageways, or other enclosed areas, requiring physical agility and resistance to claustrophobia.PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:The team member may be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, or feel, especially in the course of investigating and assessing property damage; these requirements may include the need to lift weights of up to 50 pounds, including a ladder.The work requires close visual acuity, with or without correction, to prepare reports containing words, symbols, and numerical figures; the incumbent is required to view a computer terminal, use a keyboard, read printed documents, make detailed visual inspections, perceive color, perceive depth, and have a sufficient field of vision to carry out all inspection and related duties.
