Job summary

K&A Power Group is seeking experienced Project Managers to join our team in New York state. You will lead utility-scale projects across substations, transmission and distribution domains, coordinating with contractors and clients to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s Degree, 5+ years PM experience, PE or PMP certification, and strong skills in MS Project, Excel and PowerPoint. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits offered.

• 5+ years in large-scale utility project/program management.
• Professional Engineer License and/or PMP Certification required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, plan, execute and close projects with clear WBS, cost baseline and OBS.
• Lead and manage project teams; remove obstacles and drive productivity.
• Ensure quality and environmental processes meet SPI/CPI targets below 1.0.
• Oversee third-party projects and coordinate with transmission and interconnecting customers.
• Manage costs, schedule, scope, risks, communications and change control.
• Be the main client contact for project matters and disputes resolution.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Project Managers to join our team at K&A Engineering in Binghamton, Mechanicville, and Lancaster, New York. Role Expectations:

• Initiation, Planning, Executing, and Closing Projects - defining the project WBS, Cost Baseline and OBS structure, initiating the project, building its comprehensive work plan, controlling and managing to the risks, scope, schedule and budget
• Managing Teams - facilitating commitment and productivity, removing obstacles, and managing teams
• Implementation and Management of Quality and Environmental Process and procedures on all projects focusing on meeting SPI and CPI performance indicators less than 1.0
• Management of third-party projects including other transmission Customers and interconnecting customers
• Accountable and Responsible for:
  • Cost /Budgeting and Management
  • Communication Management
  • Change Management
  • Schedule Management
  • Construction Management Oversight
  • Commissioning Management Oversight
  • Risk Management
  • Regulatory and Stakeholder Management
• Responsible for the execution and successful completion of the project and the main point of contact between contractors and the client on all project matter.
• Responsible for monitoring and measuring project performance throughout the project and resolving any contract disputes relative to costs, scope, and schedule.

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor’s Degree is Required
• 5+ years in large scale projects/program management for utility business
• Professional Engineer License and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and
• Project Management Professional or Program Management Professional
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the functional area under which it will be contracted: Substations, T&D, Gas-Hydro and OSG

Pay Range: $110,000-$125,000/annually
