Job summary

K&A Power Group in Syracuse, New York is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to lead large‑scale utility and EPC projects. You will provide direction, manage cost, schedule, and risks, and coordinate engineering, field and design teams.

This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to travel to the Syracuse office for meetings 2x a month as needed. A PMP is preferred and a Bachelor's in engineering management is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Construction Management preferred.
• PMI PMP certification preferred.
• 10+ years of project management experience in large-scale utility projects.
• Strong safety-first focus and familiarity with permitting processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level project management overview, expertise, and direction.
• Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, and risk across overhead, substation, and underground work.
• Define WBS, Cost Baseline, and OBS; develop comprehensive work plan and control scope, schedule, and budget.
• Lead and coordinate engineering, field, and design teams.
• Ensure quality and environmental processes are followed; manage third-party projects.

• Provide high level project management overview, expertise, and direction.
• Provide overall management of the project with knowledge & experience in all segments (overhead, substation, and underground), including schedule and budget management.
• Initiation, Planning, Executing, and Closing Projects — defining the project WBS, Cost Baseline, and OBS structure, initiating the project, building its comprehensive work plan, controlling and managing the risks, scope, schedule, and budget
• Managing Teams — facilitating commitment and productivity, removing obstacles, and managing teams
• Oversee the Engineering team and provide support to field & design.
• Implementation and Management of Quality and Environmental Processes and Procedures on all projects
• Management of third-party projects

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering, Engineering Management, or Construction Management discipline preferred
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
• 10+ years of relevant project management experience in large-scale utility projects
• Strong experience with EPC Projects, Contract Models and Management
• Strong Safety-First Focus
• Familiar with Article VII Permitting
• Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools
• Proficiency with financial analysis tools in a utility setting
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively with competing priorities and stressful situations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Must be able to travel to office for meetings in Syracuse 2x a month
• Hands on Project Manager- travels to sites

Pay Range $135,000-$150,000/year
