Job summary

Baker Construction in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Project Manager I to lead the management direction on less complex projects. You will establish objectives, manage budgets, and serve as the primary client contact while coordinating with the superintendent to monitor construction progress and financial health.

You will ensure safety and contribute to the company’s culture of excellence, with opportunities to advance as a part of a leading specialty contractor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management with 4 years’ experience, or 8 years in construction.
• Equivalent education/experience accepted.
• Strong leadership, communication and client-relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall management direction on less complex project(s).
• Establish objectives through planning and budgets; primary client contact.
• Monitor construction and financial activities with the Superintendent.
• Ensure project safety and apply IIF culture.
• Coordinate pre-construction duties and start-up processes.
• Manage cost, schedule, and cash flow.
• Oversee direct reports and maintain client relationships.
• Generate and submit technical records; support project construction.
• Lead safety, risk management and training initiatives.

Summary

The Project Manager I provides overall management direction on less complex project(s). Establishes project objectives through planning and budgets, serves as the primary point of contact with the client, and monitors construction and financial activities in collaboration with the Superintendent. Responsible for the financial results of the project. Responsible for safety on the project by perpetuating the IIF culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and 4 years of experience, or 8 years of construction related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
