Role Overview
This role willbe responsible for independently leadingsmall tomedium Finance and Actuarial initiativeswithfocusedsupportforEnterprise Modeling team, providing project coordination and delivery support across modeling, data, and reporting workstreams. The ideal candidate is early-to-mid career, eager to build project management skills in a technical, analytics-driven environment, and comfortable learning the fundamentals of modeling and data delivery processes while working under the guidance of senior project managers and team leads.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Enterprise Modeling team by helping coordinate day-to-day project activities, meetings, and deliverables across model development, data, reporting, and business operationsworkstreams.
- Assist in creating and maintaining project plans, status reports, dashboards, meeting notes, and standard project artifact templates under the direction of senior team members.
- Help track action items, risks, issues, and decisions (RAID log), following up with task owners to keep items moving and current.
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for sprint/backlog grooming sessions, stand-ups, and planning meetings for one or more projects.
- Support the organization and upkeep of the team's backlog and work items in ADO (or equivalent tool), including setting up tasks, defects, and basic reporting views.
- Compile and format project metrics and status updates into summary views for review by team leads and stakeholders.Manage relationships withmid-to-seniorlevel stakeholders
- Build working relationships with team members across Modeling, Actuarial, IT, and Finance to support smooth day-to-day coordination.
- Learn and apply core PMO tools (e.g., ADO, SmartSheet, Excel, PowerPoint) to support reporting and documentation needs.
- Partner with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to support backlog planning, refinement, and prioritization.
- Facilitate planning activities, delivery cadences, and milestone tracking in Agile or hybrid delivery models.
- Ensure backlogs are well maintained and aligned to delivery commitments and capacity constraints
- Escalate potential risks, scheduling conflicts, or blockers to senior project managers in a timely manner.
- Take on increasing ownership of smaller projects or defined workstreams as experience grows.
Required Skills / Experience
- 3-5years of experience in project coordination, project management, or a related support role; internship or academic project experience considered for candidates newer to the field.
- 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple small tasks or workstreams at once.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting updates to a small team.
- Familiarity with project management concepts and methodologies (e.g., Agile/Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall) gained through coursework, certification, or on-the-job exposure.
- Working proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint;as well asPMO tools such as ADO, SmartSheet, JIRA, or MS Project.
- Exposure to financial services, insurance, or actuarial/modeling environments
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and asking questions to close knowledge gaps.
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in growing into a project management career within a data/modeling-focused environment.
Preferred Skills / Experience
- Familiarity with modeling or data platforms such as Prophet, Oracle Cloud EPM, or Snowflake is a plus, but not required.
- CAPM, PMP, or entry-level Agile certification (e.g., CSM).
- Prior experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) or a similar work-tracking tool
TECHNICAL SKILLS
