Job summary

Voith US Inc. seeks an experienced project leader for hydropower plant electromechanical packages. You will oversee complex projects from scope to closeout, manage budgets and schedules, and drive profitability through effective cross-functional leadership.

The role requires five years in hydropower or related industries, strong skills in SAP, ECTR, and Primavera, and the ability to read drawings and BOMs. Excellent communication and organizational strengths are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Controls, Chemical, Civil) or an Associate’s degree in a related field with relevant work history.
• Minimum of five years of experience in the hydropower or supporting industry.
• Experience with SAP, ECTR, and Primavera systems.
• Experience with heavy manufacturing processes (casting, forging, welding, machining).
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and bills of materials (BOM).
• Strong scheduling and project cost control skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Strong leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex projects for electromechanical equipment of hydropower plants in Large Hydro Power Plants.
• Own project profitability through all phases including hydraulic, basic, production, manufacturing, sourcing, transportation, and field service.
• Develop customer relationships and support Sales and Account Managers to expand business.
• Drive change and manage project-specific opportunities and risks with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Define budgets, monitor profitability, and forecast financials through project handover to completion.
• Lead the development, monitoring, and control of project schedules.
• Own all project documentation and contribute to process improvements and standardization.

Job description

• Leading of complex projects for the entire electromechanical equipment of hydropower plants in the field of Large Hydro Power Plants
• Accountable for the project and project profitability through all phases, Hydraulic Engineering,
• Basic Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Transportation, and Field

Service (install, commission, and close out)

• Ensure contract-compliant execution (incl. review of bids and contracts) and compliance with

specified project objectives (costs, deadlines, and quality) through functional leadership and

control of the interdisciplinary project team

• Develop customer relationship and support Sales and Account Managers to expand business
• Drive change and claim management as well as project-specific opportunity and risk management in the interface function (customers, subcontractors, suppliers)
• Responsible for project profitability from the project handover to completion. Includes definition of project budgets, monitoring and forecasting of overall project profitability
• Lead the development, monitoring, and controlling of project schedule
• Take ownership of all project documentation
• Contribute to short and long-term objectives of the Company for process improvement and standardization

Required Skills/Abilities –

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Controls, Chemical, Civil) or an Associate’s degree in a related field with a corresponding work history
• Minimum of five years of experience in the hydropower or supporting industry is required
• Working knowledge of SAP, ECTR, & Primavera systems
• Working knowledge of heavy manufacturing process, casting, forging, welding, machining and
• A good mechanical aptitude with the ability to read mechanical drawings and bills of materials
• Scheduling and Project Cost Control skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Strong leadership skills
