AM Mechanical is seeking a Project Manager with 3–5 years of estimating and project management experience in HVAC to join our Downers Grove, IL team. The role focuses on design/build project oversight, client coordination, and efficient cost management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field required.
• 2–7+ years of HVAC project management experience with design/build preferred.
• Demonstrated competency in negotiation and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all managerial and administrative aspects of turn-key HVAC/projects including estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reporting and billing.
• Coordinate working drawings by gathering project requirements from clients.
• Prepare and submit project proposals in collaboration with management.
• Attend client meetings to present proposals and address cost, design and scope questions.
• Ensure accurate project estimates aligned with contracted work scopes.
• Manage RFIs, change-orders and submittals through project lifecycle.
• Track cost status and internal project accounting for ongoing projects.
• Plan, coordinate and maintain field operations and project teams.

We are currently seeking highly motivated Project Manager with 3-5 years of estimating/project management experience with a focus in HVAC to join our team in Downers Grove, IL. A Day in the Life:

• Responsible for all managerial and administrative aspects of a wide range of turn-key mechanical and/or process piping projects including; estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation
• Gather project requirements directly from clients and facilitate preparation of working drawings
• Work both independently and alongside management to prepare/submit project proposals
• Attend client meetings to present project proposals and address client questions relating to cost, design, and scope of work
• Ensure an accurate and complete project estimates that align with the scope(s) of contracted work
• Manage RFI’s, change-orders, and submittals throughout lifecycle of assigned project(s)
• Manage internal project accounting requirements and track cost status of ongoing project(s)
• Plan, coordinate, oversee, and maintain effective field operations and teams
• Manage and address project close-out and/or warranty issues as they arise

Necessary Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
• 2-7+ years of experience in HVAC project management; previous experience leading design/build projects strongly preferred
• Demonstrated competency in effective negotiation and conflict resolution
• Flexibility to travel to client sites nationwide as needed required

Typical base compensation for the Project Manager role is between $84,000.00 - $135,000.00. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to the base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company.
