Job summary

AM Mechanical’s team of engineers and project managers are experts at tackling complex HVAC projects through a design/build approach. The role in Dallas, TX focuses on estimating, scheduling, and coordinating across design, project management, and field staff.

The day-to-day includes preparing proposals, managing RFIs and change-orders, and ensuring accurate estimates that align with contracted work. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required and travel to client sites nationwide

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 2-7+ years of HVAC project management experience; leading design/build projects preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency in negotiation and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a wide range of turn-key mechanical and/or process piping projects including estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation.
  • Gather project requirements from clients and facilitate working drawings.
  • Prepare/submit project proposals independently or with management.
  • Attend client meetings to present proposals and address cost, design, and scope questions.
  • Ensure accurate project estimates aligned with contracted work.
  • Manage RFIs, change-orders, and submittals throughout project lifecycles.
  • Coordinate field operations and teams; oversee project close-out and warranty issues.

We are currently seeking highly motivated Project Manager with 3-5 years of estimating/project management experience with a focus in HVAC to join our team in Dallas, TX. A Day in the Life:

  • Responsible for all managerial and administrative aspects of a wide range of turn-key mechanical and/or process piping projects including; estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation
  • Gather project requirements directly from clients and facilitate preparation of working drawings
  • Work both independently and alongside management to prepare/submit project proposals
  • Attend client meetings to present project proposals and address client questions relating to cost, design, and scope of work
  • Ensure an accurate and complete project estimates that align with the scope(s) of contracted work
  • Manage RFI’s, change-orders, and submittals throughout lifecycle of assigned project(s)
  • Manage internal project accounting requirements and track cost status of ongoing project(s)
  • Plan, coordinate, oversee, and maintain effective field operations and teams
  • Manage and address project close-out and/or warranty issues as they arise

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • 2-7+ years of experience in HVAC project management; previous experience leading design/build projects strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated competency in effective negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Flexibility to travel to client sites nationwide as needed required

Typical base compensation for the Project Manager role is between $84,000.00 - $135,000.00. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to the base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company.
