Responsibilities

• Manage HVAC projects from handover through completion.

• Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams.
• Manage RFIs, change orders, purchase orders, and material releases.
• Monitor project progress, financial performance, and project schedules.
• Lead project meetings, site visits, and coordination meetings.
• Manage equipment and material procurement.
• Identify and resolve project risks, delays, and scope changes.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
• Oversee project closeout, commissioning, and final handover.

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established mechanical contractor seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to join its growing team in Columbus, Ohio.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a strong background in commercial HVAC or mechanical construction to take ownership of projects from initial handover through completion. The successful candidate will manage commercial, industrial, healthcare, and other large-scale mechanical projects throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage HVAC projects from handover through completion
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, procurement, and cost control
• Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and project documentation
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams
• Manage RFIs, change orders, purchase orders, and material releases
• Monitor project progress, financial performance, and project schedules
• Lead project meetings, site visits, and coordination meetings
• Manage equipment and material procurement
• Identify and resolve project risks, delays, and scope changes
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation
• Oversee project closeout, commissioning, and final handover

Requirements

• Previous Project Management experience within HVAC or mechanical construction
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, equipment, and installation methods
• Experience managing projects from preconstruction through completion
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, and cost-control experience
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
• Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is beneficial but not essential
• Knowledge of the Columbus and Central Ohio construction market is preferred
• Salary up to $150,000, depending on experience
