Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited seeks a Data Center Construction Project Manager to lead on-site delivery for a new-build hyperscale facility. You will coordinate GC, subcontractors, consultants and vendors while maintaining tight controls on budget, schedule, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Based on-site (or willing to relocate), you will collaborate with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to drive commissioning readiness and a smooth handover to operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data center construction, mission-critical facilities, or comparable large-scale industrial projects.
• Ground-up builds from early site work through commissioning.
• Strong grounding in MEP systems and critical-path scheduling.
• Experience with hyperscale operators or top-tier contractors preferred.
• Willing to lead multi-stakeholder projects in a fast-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of project delivery for a new-build hyperscale data center, from site work through to completion.
• Coordinate GC, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to align delivery with scope, schedule and cost.
• Provide on-site oversight of civil, structural, MEP, utility tie-ins and critical infrastructure.
• Collaborate with internal teams to keep the project moving and preempt blockers.
• Implement project controls: tracking, reporting, risk management, and change control.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance throughout the build.
• Act as senior on-site representative delivering outcomes and handover to operations.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Center Construction Project Manager to join a growing team. The successful candidate will take full ownership of on-site project delivery for new-build hyperscale facilities, managing civil, structural, MEP, and utility installation work streams from site preparation through to completion. This role requires directing general contractors, sub-contractors, and key vendors while maintaining strict project controls around budget, scheduling, safety, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, the ideal candidate will collaborate closely with internal engineering, procurement, and operations teams to drive commissioning readiness and support a seamless operational handover.

Responsibilities:

• Take full ownership of project delivery for a new-build hyperscale data center, from early site work through to completion
• Manage and coordinate the general contractor, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors, keeping delivery aligned to scope, schedule, and cost
• Provide hands‑on oversight of on‑site work streams, civil, structural, MEP, utility tie‑ins, and critical infrastructure installation
• Work in lockstep with internal design, procurement, development, and operations teams to keep the project moving and get ahead of issues before they become blockers
• Put strong project controls in place, tracking, reporting, risk management, and a clear change‑management process
• Keep the project compliant with safety, environmental, and applicable local/state regulatory requirements
• Push the project toward commissioning readiness and support a clean handover to the operations team
• Act as the company's senior on‑site representative, owning delivery outcomes locally

Skills/Must Have:

• 8+ years' experience in data center construction, mission‑critical facilities, or comparable large‑scale industrial projects
• A demonstrated track record delivering ground‑up builds, from early site work through to commissioning
• Solid technical grounding in MEP systems, electrical distribution, cooling infrastructure, and critical‑path scheduling
• Experience with hyperscale operators, colocation developers, or top‑tier mission‑critical contractors strongly preferred
• Comfortable leading multi‑stakeholder projects in a fast‑moving, high‑growth environment
• Strong communication, negotiation, and contractor‑management skills
• Based on‑site (or willing to relocate) for the duration of the build
