Job summary

ARCO/Murray National Construction in Chicago is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager for our Hospitality team. You will hold full responsibility for project performance, client satisfaction, and taking projects from design through completion, with complete profit and schedule accountability.

Lead preconstruction planning, coordinate with design teams and subcontractors, drive value engineering, manage budgets and change orders, and ensure safety and quality on site while delivering

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field.
• 2-5 years of construction management or engineering design experience.
• Experience leading ground up commercial/hospitality projects preferred.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of the project from preconstruction through closeout.
• Work with clients and design team on preliminary concepts and budgets.
• Negotiate contracts, manage subcontractors, and track costs and schedules.
• Ensure safety, quality, and value engineering throughout the project.

Typical base compensation for the Project Manager role is between $84,000.00 - $135,000.00. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to the base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of project from the earliest stages of preconstruction through project closeout.
• Work closely with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget.
• Participate in the proposal meeting with clients to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees.
• Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors.
• Identify and investigate opportunities to procure material and/or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to project budget or schedule.
• Work with Project Superintendent to develop and review subcontractor scopes of work/contracts, project schedule, and site logistics plan.
• Lead preconstruction planning meetings with all designers, subcontractors and vendors aimed at solving potential constructibility, sequencing, and/or manpower issues.
• Lead weekly/bi-weekly OAC meetings on-site once construction begins to review progress and address challenges directly with client.
• Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering or related field.
• 2-5 years of construction management or engineering design experience.
• Previous experience leading ground up commercial/hospitality/restaurant projects is preferred.
• Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.
