Job summary

HSI Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to lead the project management team, including project superintendents, estimators, accounting and engineering staff. The role ensures projects are executed on/under budget and on/ahead of schedule.

You will review drawings, prepare submittals and RFIs, obtain quotes from subcontractors, track deliveries, and support change orders, while coordinating with clients and third parties and documenting site conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• 3–5 years of construction/mechanical project experience preferred.
• Post-offer drug screening and background check required.
• Ability to obtain TWIC and DBIDS credentials.
• Must show proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• Valid Hawaii driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Project Manager will lead the project management team, including Project Superintendents, estimators, accounting and administrative staff, and project engineers. The primary objective is to ensure projects are executed on/under budget and on/ahead of schedule.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Review and Compliance with Project Requirements: Review and understand project drawings and specifications. Prepare submittals, schedules, Request For Information (RFI), obtain material and equipment price quotations from subcontractors and suppliers, track material delivery status, assist with change order management, close out documents, and any other tasks as directed by the project management team.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with all project stakeholders, including Clients, Contractors, Designers, and third parties (e.g., Fire Department, BWS, HECO, DOT) involved in the projects.
• Site Visits and Documentation: Conduct on-site visits as needed and document conditions.
• Additional Responsibilities: Fulfill other assigned duties as needed.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Equivalent Industry Experience

Equivalent Industry Experience: 3-5 years preferred

• Construction Industry Literacy : Understands specifications, and drawings.
• Onsite Work : Willingness to travel to various work sites.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
• Must be able to traverse construction sites (including uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, or active work areas).
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs occasionally.
• Visual acuity to read plans, technical documents, and computer screens.
• Ability to travel locally for site visits, pre-bid meetings, or subcontractor coordination.

Pay Range

$100,000-$130,000 annual salary to commensurate with experience.
