Quanta Power Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Manager – High Voltage to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of high-voltage electrical construction projects, including substations, transmission lines, switchyards, and associated utility infrastructure. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for assigned projects and is responsible for ensuring safe, high-quality project execution while maintaining schedule, budget, and customer satisfaction objectives.
This role requires strong leadership, financial management, and utility construction expertise to successfully coordinate field operations, subcontractors, labor resources, materials, and client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of project execution from pre-construction planning through final project closeout.
- Champion Quanta Power Solutions’ safety culture by ensuring compliance with company, client, and regulatory safety standards.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Coordinate with field supervision, engineering teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to support efficient project execution.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure work is completed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, manpower forecasts, procurement plans, and cost-control measures.
- Track project performance, analyze productivity, and implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain project objectives.
- Manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, revenue projections, and profitability reporting.
- Prepare and review project estimates, proposals, quantity takeoffs, and project documentation.
- Lead project setup activities, including cost coding, billing processes, document controls, material planning, and reporting systems.
- Serve as the primary liaison with customers, utility owners, union representatives, and other key project stakeholders.
- Identify, price, negotiate, and process change orders resulting from design revisions, RFIs, and customer requests.
- Manage subcontractor performance, contracts, schedules, invoicing, and overall project integration.
- Review and approve project-related payroll, equipment utilization reports, and project cost transactions.
- Coordinate procurement activities and support material acquisition, submittals, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare and present project status updates, forecasts, and performance metrics to clients and senior leadership.
- Ensure adequate labor, equipment, and material resources are available to safely meet project schedules and production goals.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to project teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 4-7 years of project management, engineering, construction management, or related experience within the electrical utility construction industry.
- Experience managing high-voltage utility projects, including transmission, distribution, substation, or related electrical infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated success managing project financial performance, forecasting, budgeting, and cost controls.
- Knowledge of utility construction methods, equipment, materials, and industry standards.
- Experience working with union labor environments, including IBEW labor agreements and jurisdictional requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and other project management or reporting systems.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
