Quanta Power Solutions is seeking a motivated Project Coordinator to support Project Managers and field leadership in the planning, execution, and successful delivery of high-voltage transmission, substation, and utility infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for individuals with construction, engineering, utility, or project management experience who are looking to grow into larger project management responsibilities within the power delivery industry.
The Project Coordinator will work onsite in the field and play a key role in project planning, scheduling, cost tracking, documentation management, client reporting, and overall project execution. This position requires regular interaction with construction teams, utility clients, subcontractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Support Project Managers with all phases of transmission and substation project execution from planning through closeout.
- Assist with project budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and progress tracking.
- Maintain project documentation including engineering drawings, submittals, RFIs, change orders, outage schedules, and project logs.
- Coordinate project communications between engineering, procurement, construction, utility clients, and field teams.
- Monitor and update project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling tools.
- Assist in preparing monthly reports, client updates, billing documentation, and project forecasts.
- Support field operations by tracking productivity, schedule performance, and construction progress.
- Coordinate material deliveries for transmission line and substation projects, including major electrical equipment, steel structures, relay panels, breakers, transformers, and conductor.
- Participate in project meetings and document action items and follow-up activities.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure compliance with contractual requirements, project specifications, and utility standards.
- Assist with outage planning, energization schedules, commissioning support, and project turnover activities.
- Promote and support company safety initiatives, audits, environmental requirements, and site compliance programs.
- Assist with project closeout activities including punch lists, turnover packages, as-built drawings, commissioning documentation, and final records.
- Regular site presence is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1-5 years of experience supporting utility, transmission, substation, electrical, energy, industrial, or EPC construction projects preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent scheduling software preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret transmission line plans, substation drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, and technical documents.
- Familiarity with utility construction practices, outage coordination, commissioning activities, and high-voltage electrical systems is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow within utility construction and project management operations.
