Job summary

Key People is seeking a Project Manager for heavy civil highway and utility projects across Virginia, based in Virginia Beach. You will own cost, schedule and profitability from buyout through closeout, coordinating with field teams and the superintendent to deliver on-time, on-budget results.

You'll manage subcontractors, change orders and owner negotiations, while mentoring APMs and project engineers. VDOT or DOT experience strongly preferred, and relocation assistance is available for the

Qualifications

• 7+ years on heavy civil, highway or utility projects in PM or senior APM role.
• VDOT or other DOT project experience strongly preferred.
• Proven cost, schedule and change order management.
• BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field experience.
• HCSS HeavyJob, HeavyBid or Primavera P6 experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license.
• Based in Virginia or willing to relocate (relocation assistance available).

Responsibilities

• Run monthly pay applications, cost reports and forecasts.

Project Manager, Heavy Civil / VDOT

Location: Virginia Beach / Hampton Roads, VA area (Virginia projects, relocation available)

An established, family owned self perform heavy civil contractor with more than 50 years in Virginia is hiring a Project Manager for heavy civil highway and utility projects across the state. This is a strong opportunity for a Project Manager or senior APM with VDOT or other DOT experience who wants ownership of real projects with a contractor that keeps winning work. You'll run roadway, highway and utility projects from start to finish, much of it VDOT work. Hampton Roads candidates are great, and candidates from anywhere ready to relocate are welcome.
