Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction, Salary up to $140k (DOE)

KeyStaff Professionals is partnering with a growing Civil Construction Company that is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee heavy civil construction projects, including highway and infrastructure work. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project planning, execution, and coordination with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. This is a full-time, in-person role based both in the office and in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all phases of civil construction projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
• Collaborate closely with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors, maintaining strong professional relationships.
• Oversee procurement and bidding efforts, including reviewing, and evaluating subcontractor proposals.
• Enforce and monitor compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards on all job sites.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, addressing scheduling issues and conflicts proactively.
• Prepare, negotiate, and manage contract modifications, including change orders, extra work claims, and value engineering proposals.
• Review and verify subcontractor progress and billing documentation.

Work Conditions:

This position requires full-time, on-site work. Duties will be performed both in a typical office setting and outdoors on active construction sites. Outdoor conditions may include exposure to weather, dust, noise, and uneven or rough terrain. Job sites may involve working around heavy machinery, traffic, and at elevated heights or significant depths.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience and technical training.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in project or construction management, ideally within the heavy civil or highway construction sectors.
• Previous involvement in design-build projects is advantageous.
• Familiarity with construction management software such as HCSS Heavy Job or similar platforms is a plus.
• Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
