Position Summary

Daniel O’Connell’s Sons is seeking a Project Manager with a minimum of five years of construction experience. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day execution, project controls, project engineering, cost, risk, and business management of a specific project. You will coordinate and lead internal project teams, trade partners, and clients throughout construction, plant start-up, and project turnover. The role involves creating and adhering to project timelines, budgets, trade partner contracts, negotiations, and reporting.

The position is currently assigned to the I-90 Bridge Project. The Project Manager will report to the Project Executive and collaborate with the project team.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage project planning and scheduling.
  • Oversee financial management, including owner pay applications, cost control, and managing field staff/operations.
  • Complete project buy-out and procurement, including scope review, negotiations, subcontract issuance, and vendor management.
  • Prepare reports, production updates, and cost/revenue projections.
  • Monitor construction progress and work with the superintendent to resolve operational issues.
  • Communicate with preconstruction, owner, architects, engineers, and trade partners; maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Represent the company in project meetings and provide status reports.
  • Coordinate with other DOC departments like BIM, Scheduling, MEP, and Estimating.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and enforce safety goals, ensuring compliance with safety policies.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Position Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of construction methods and procedures.
  • Management experience including financial and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to resolve complex issues and support team morale.
  • Strong leadership and motivation skills.
Education & Experience
  • Extensive knowledge of construction practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years in a similar project management role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software (Procore or similar), and scheduling tools (Primavera or similar).
  • OSHA 30 Certification required; LEED, Lean, CPR/First Aid certifications are a plus.
Working Conditions

Work involves both indoor and outdoor environments, traversing construction sites, using stairs/ladders, and wearing PPE.
