Job summary

SSC Space in Spring House, PA, is hiring a Project Manager for Ground Systems Infrastructure Establishment to lead global ground station and antenna infrastructure projects. You will guide programmatic and technical execution, coordinating SSC teams and contractors across locations and time zones to ensure on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience managing technical infrastructure projects (construction, installation or refurbishment).
  • Ability to coordinate suppliers, contractors and stakeholders across countries/time zones.
  • Knowledge of project controls: budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, risk management.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project, JIRA).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to senior stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of ground station and infrastructure projects worldwide.
  • Develop and manage schedules, budgets, risks, resources, and performance.
  • Provide timely reporting on project status to senior management.
  • Manage contractor procurement, supplier performance, site assessments, licensing.
  • Coordinate project logistics including import/export of equipment.
  • Ensure deliverables meet scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety and compliance.
  • Promote safe working practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Support business development through proposals, bid support and evaluations.
  • Foster collaboration across engineering, operations, commercial and external partners.

Description

As a GSIE Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering new ground station and antenna infrastructure. You will provide programmatic and technical guidance to support successful project execution and lead projects by coordinating contractor and SSC teams across locations and time zones, ensuring the right competencies are in place.

Requirements
  • Engineering degree (Electrical, Satcom/Telecom, Aerospace, or similar), or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience managing technical projects involving construction, installation, or refurbishment of technical infrastructure.
  • Ability to coordinate suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders across countries and time zones.
  • Knowledge of project controls, including budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical and program information clearly to senior stakeholders and management.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and project delivery in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communicator and problem solver with proven negotiation skills, able to translate complex technical issues into business, cost, and risk impacts while driving continuous improvement.
Desired Skills and Background
  • Experience delivering satellite ground stations, telecommunications sites, antenna systems, or related infrastructure.
  • Background in systems engineering within satellite, telecommunications, aerospace, or similar technical domains.
  • Professional project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Demonstrated progression through increasing levels of project or technical leadership responsibility.
Responsibilities

  • Promote safe working practices and ensure adherence to applicable regulatory, environmental, and sustainability requirements.
  • Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, bid support, and technical evaluations.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration between engineering, operations, commercial, and external partner organizations.

Location

This is a permanent full-time position located in Spring House, PA, with a minimum of three (3) days per week onsite at our office in Spring House Innovation Park.
