Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager in Boston, MA (Hybrid) to lead multidisciplinary teams on complex projects worldwide. You will manage project facets ensuring compliance with design, budget, and schedule while administering overall project management and maintaining client relationships.

The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering, with at least six years of related experience and must be a Registered Architect or Professional Engineer. A competitive salary range of $125,000 – $140,000 per year is offered, in addition to comprehensive benefits.

Job description

Project Manager – Boston, MA (Hybrid)

Compensation range: $125,000 – $140,000 per year.

What you will do:
  • Lead and assist in managing multidisciplinary teams on complex projects worldwide.
  • Ensure all project facets are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
  • Administer overall project management, establish objectives, and enforce policies.
  • Ensure project completion within budget, schedule, and specifications.
  • Review contracts and sub‑contracts; support subcontractor management.
  • Monitor project financials and report to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain design schedules for approval.
  • Resolve field‑initiated questions with the technical design team.
  • Coordinate activities among design groups.
  • Attend and record design review meetings; track action items.
  • Coordinate the development of project deliverables with the design team.
  • Maintain a positive client relationship.
  • Administer the project from budgeting/scheduling through procurement and contract closeout, including profit/loss responsibility.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering plus at least six years of related experience managing multidisciplinary projects, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience with DoD projects.
  • Registered Architect or Professional Engineer.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in architecture with 10+ years of design management experience.
  • Proficiency in Revit, BIM, MS Office Suite, SharePoint, and design software such as Photoshop.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and services during construction, including RFI responses and submittals.
  • Strong client‑facing skills and ability to lead client discussions, negotiate scope, fees, and financial performance.
  • Travel capability and proficiency with remote communication applications (Teams, Zoom, etc.).
