Texas Southern University in Houston seeks a Project Manager - Facilities to lead planning, scheduling, design and development of major construction and maintenance projects up to $20M per year.
The role coordinates budgets, writes complex statements of work, and oversees testing, acceptance, and inspection to ensure cost controls and compliance under the Director of Construction. Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering and 7+ years in a university setting are preferred.
PROJECT MANAGER - FACILITIES
Under general supervision oversees the planning, scheduling, design and development of all phases of a project. Coordinates budgets for various construction and maintenance projects with budgets of up to 20 million per project. Prepares cost analysis reports. Conducts bid reviews and evaluations. Prepares official solicitation documents, including writing complex statements of work and specifications for external and in‑house work. Oversees or coordinates testing, acceptance, and inspection to ensure compliance with specifications and cost controls, and other duties as delegated by the Director of Construction.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or closely related discipline is preferred. Trade and/or other Texas state‑issued licenses acceptable.
Experience: Seven (7) years or directly related job experience in a University college setting.
