Job summary

Tschiggfrie Excavating in Eastern Iowa seeks an experienced project manager/estimator to lead and estimate heavy/highway construction projects. You will manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and safety compliance while coordinating with field crews and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has a construction management degree or equivalent, at least five years in heavy/highway PM or estimating, and strong skills in blueprints, math, and bid software.

Qualifications

• Construction Management Degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
• 5 years on projects in the heavy/highway industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, practices and techniques.
• Familiarity with construction bid and management software.
• Construction Industry knowledge.
• Proficient in math and computing skills.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics and construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead heavy/highway construction projects from initiation through closeout.
• Estimate project costs and prepare bids for new work.
• Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Ensure schedules, budgets and safety requirements are met.
• Maintain thorough project documentation and reporting.

We are seeking an experienced project manager/estimator to manage and estimate construction projects.

Qualifications Of The Ideal Candidate Include

• Construction Management Degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience
• Project Management: 5 years on projects in the heavy/highway industry preferred
• Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, practices and techniques
