Job summary

Herbst Electric, based in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking a Project Manager/Estimator to support industrial construction services, including power distribution, control systems, automation, and ongoing maintenance.

You will manage quotes, perform field estimates, coordinate with clients and contractors, ensure safety and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement while aligning with The State Group's values.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager in the industrial construction industry or a relevant internship preferred.
• Prefer a two-year degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Industrial electrical experience.
• Experience with estimating software and ERP purchasing.
• OSHA Construction Training.
• Intermediate MS Office skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Scheduling experience is a plus.
• Time management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks effectively, and a proven track record of success in a busy, deadline-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and handle incoming quotations, information requests, and pre-/post-tender activities.
• Spend the majority of time preparing estimates and performing field work.
• Manage administrative tasks and direct labor on projects.
• Interface with clients and contractors to develop effective business relationships.
• Ensure quality construction standards are followed.
• Monitor and lead compliance with building and safety regulations.
• Manage and mitigate project risks.
• Comply with State Group’s standards and operating procedures.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a Project Manager/Estimator, you will recognize, handle, and process incoming requests for quotations, information, etc.

Spend the majority of your time preparing estimates and working in the field.

Manage administrative and direct labor work while managing projects.
