Job summary

Trane Technologies in Upstate NY is seeking an Equipment Project Manager to oversee HVAC equipment projects from initiation to completion. The role involves managing scope, schedule, and budget, and coordinating with building owners, contractors, and field staff.

You will monitor forecasted cost, manage project cash-flow, and ensure adherence to internal equipment ordering processes. A strong emphasis is placed on customer satisfaction and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in business or equivalent, or at least two years of PM/equipment experience; or four+ years PM/equipment experience.
• HVAC systems or temperature equipment familiarity is preferred.
• Strong customer service and problem solving skills are essential.
• Strong communication and proactive teamwork capability.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage HVAC equipment projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate with customers, owners, contractors, and field staff to ensure alignment.
• Monitor costs, forecast accuracy, and cash flow; adjust as needed to meet deadlines.
• Enter orders, issue purchases, and generate work orders for equipment start-ups.
• Maintain schedules, milestones, and task dependencies; ensure timely ship dates.

What's in it for you: Trane in Upstate NY is hiring for an Equipment Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and management of HVAC equipment projects and accountable for assigned projects' scope of work, schedule, and budget.

• Plans and analyzes assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters and sets procedures to accomplish system objectives, involving complex equipment applications.
• Communicates with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff.
• Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.
• Compares estimated ship dates with contractors project schedule and ensures compliance with internal equipment ordering processes.
• Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion and controls expenses by monitoring assigned project budget.
• Creates and makes revisions to project schedules including: generating tasks, estimates, dependencies, and milestones.
• Responsible for entering equipment orders, issuing purchase, and generating work orders for equipment start-ups.
• Responsible for project cash-flow management: progress billing, collections support and monitoring, and resource management.

• Associate’s Degree in business or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years of project management, equipment, HVAC or related experience; OR a minimum of four (4) years of project management, equipment, HVAC or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems and temperature equipment preferred.
• Strong, demonstrated customer service and problem solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, proactive approach with willingness to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proven experience prioritizing tasks in order to meet tight deadlines within a high paced environment with attention to.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range: $65,200.00 - $118,860.00
