AES Clean Energy is seeking an EPC Project Manager to oversee photovoltaic solar and energy storage projects from development through turnover to Operations. Responsibilities include due diligence, leading construction planning, defining EPC scopes, and acting as an Owner’s Project Manager. The role reports to the Director of Project Management and involves managing high-impact projects and periodic travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Define and document RFPs and scope of work for EPC firms, participate in selection and negotiations.
  2. Conduct due diligence on solar sites, evaluate suitability, and review reports.
  3. Act as Owner’s Representative for EPC Contract Management on solar and storage projects.
  4. Review and manage EPC schedules, budgets, scope, subcontractors, and compliance.
  5. Manage utility interconnection processes and documentation.
  6. Engage with project stakeholders, landowners, agencies, contractors, and suppliers.
  7. Support permitting and approval processes.
  8. Coordinate with EPC contractors and vendors to ensure contractual and schedule adherence.
  9. Manage activities of internal teams and external contractors, ensuring quality and safety.
  10. Lead project status meetings and facilitate communication.
  11. Manage project documentation and assist in turnover exercises.
  12. Contribute to developing internal policies and procedures.
  13. Travel up to 30% to project locations.
Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, or related field.
  2. 5-10 years of construction project management experience, renewable energy preferred.
  3. Knowledge of photovoltaic solar design, civil, and structural standards.
  4. Experience with distributed generation or utility-scale PV solar projects; energy storage experience is a plus.
  5. PMP certification preferred.
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, CPM scheduling, and project management software.
  7. Excellent communication and partner management skills.
  8. Strong social skills and ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
