About the company:

Envusa Energy is licensed energy trader jointly owned by EDF Renewables and Anglo American. Envusa is, focused on delivering innovative and industry leading renewable energy solutions to private offtakers across Southern Africa and has a stated aim of developing a 3 to 5GW Renewable Energy generation portfolio by 2030 off the back of secured offtake. Construction of the first 520MW of wind and solar energy is at an advanced stage and will start delivering electricity to offtakers in end of 2025.

The role:

• Lead the full EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and commissioning lifecycle from Financial Close through to handover.
• Ensure delivery on time, budget, and quality, with full compliance to safety and regulatory standards.
• Set up and manage efficient project teams, systems, and tools for execution readiness.
• Direct and monitor all project costs, risks, and milestones.
• Oversee contractor performance, claims, and variations.
• Lead contract negotiations and ensure compliance with all commercial agreements (e.g. PPA, EPC, IA).
• Coordinate with key stakeholders: developers, SPV, O&M, legal teams, Eskom, service providers.
• Ensure robust HSE management under legal appointments (4.1/16.2) and promote a safety-first culture.
• Report to the Project CEO, with responsibility for cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Degree in Construction Management or Engineering (essential).
• Project Management tertiary qualification (essential); PMP, Pr.Eng, or SACPCMP registration (preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in large-scale construction, with at least:
• 5 years in senior management
• 2 years managing renewable energy projects (solar or wind)
• Proven experience with FIDIC/NEC contracts, contract negotiation, and construction risk management.
• In-depth knowledge of South African utility processes, including Eskom RETEC and Self-Build agreements.
• Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, and civil project delivery.
• Proficiency in MS Office and project planning tools.
• Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to travel and spend extended periods on site; valid driver’s license required.
