Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned Project Leader to manage environmental projects for mining and natural resource development clients in the United States. You will direct planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, quality, and contractual commitments.

The role requires leadership of cross‑functional teams, strong client relationship skills, and expertise in NEPA processes and permitting. Fluency in English is essential for collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or applicable technical discipline.
  • 5 years of project management experience on complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • 10+ years in the consulting engineering industry (preferred).
  • 5 years mining-related project experience (preferred).
  • PM certification or professional registration (preferred).
  • Experience with NEPA processes and permitting (preferred).
  • Must be fluent in English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental projects for private-sector mining and natural resource development clients.
  • Oversee planning, execution, and delivery within budget, schedule, quality, and contractual commitments.
  • Lead NEPA, permitting efforts at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Build and mentor high-performing project teams; monitor performance.
  • Negotiate scope changes with clients and subcontractors.
  • Support proposals and cultivate long-term client relationships.

Job description

  • Lead environmental projects for private-sector clients in mining and natural resource development projects
  • Manage project planning, execution, and delivery with focus on budget, schedule, quality, and contractual commitments
  • Lead federal, state, and local permitting efforts
  • Build and guide high-performing project teams and monitor project performance while mentoring and coaching team members
  • Negotiate scope change orders with clients and subcontractors
  • Support client leaders with proposal development and cultivating long-term client relationships
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or applicable technical discipline
  • 5 years of project management experience working with complex multidisciplinary projects
  • 10+ years of experience working in the consulting engineering industry (preferred)
  • 5 years of experience managing mining related projects (preferred)
  • Professional registration or certification in project management (preferred)
  • Previous experience developing project business opportunities (preferred)
  • Prior experience with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process (preferred)
  • Previous experience with mine permitting, mine operations, environmental assessments (preferred)
  • Must be fluent in English.
