Sundance Consultants, a part of True Environmental, seeks an experienced Project Manager in environmental consulting to lead government-focused projects, including HTRW work, with oversight of field activities and subcontractors.

You will prepare cost estimates and budgets, track job costs, ensure contract compliance, coordinate with clients and regulators, and drive project success from planning through execution. Travel and base passes may be required.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related field.
  • 10+ years experience with DoD (USACE, AFCEC, NAVFAC) and federal clients.
  • Professional registration (PE, PMP, PG) required; PMP preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, Local environmental regulations.
  • Excellent written, oral and computer skills.
  • Must be able to travel and obtain base passes/security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects per contract and scope of work.
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and track job costs.
  • Prepare and ensure compliance with project planning documents.
  • Coordinate with Operations Manager and CFO for reporting and procurement.
  • Assist with subcontract procurement and bid evaluation.

Project Management experience in the environmental consulting field including Hazardous, Toxic and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) projects. Must be experienced in the preparation of cost estimates and work plans, job cost tracking, and oversight of field activities, staff, and subcontractors. Responsibilities include client interaction and oversight of site investigations/assessments, site characterizations, long term monitoring and operations, and remediation work primarily for government clients.

This is a regular, full-time exempt salary position.

Duties and Responsibilites
  • Manage projects in accordance with contract and scope of work
  • Prepare cost estimates, internal budgets, and track job costs
  • Prepare and ensure compliance with contract for project planning documents including work plans, APP/SSHP, PMP, and QCP, UFP-QAPP, and modification requests for Preliminary Assessments/Site Inspections, Remedial Investigations/Feasibility Studies, and remediation projects
  • Coordinate with Operations Manager and CFO to facilitate project status reporting, procurement, and subcontract management
  • Assist Contracts Manager with subcontract procurement including developing SOW and evaluating bids
  • Supervise subcontractors, including drillers, geophysical surveyors, excavation service providers, laboratories, land surveyors, etc
  • Review field reports and prepare after action reports
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or similarly related field
  • 10+ years related experience working for DoD (preferably USACE, AFCEC, NAVFAC) and other federal clients
  • Professional registration in technical discipline and/or certification required (PE, PMP, PG, etc.)
  • Additional certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations
  • Excellent written, oral, and computer skills
  • Ability to gather and analyze data, reason logically and creatively, draw conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations
  • Ability to prioritize and organize, work well under stress, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change
  • Strong interpersonal skills to assist and communicate with staff and clients
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license, a clean driving record, and be willing to travel as needed
  • Ability to obtain base passes and/or security clearance as required
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER with current 8-hour refresher, and Supervisor training
  • Working knowledge of EM385-1-1
  • 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety
  • USACE Construction Quality Management
  • Drug/Alcohol screening is required
  • Background check is required
Work Environment
  • Works regular hours 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday (will require additional/flexible hours when necessary to meet deadlines)
  • Travel when necessary
  • Spends extended lengths of time in front of a computer screen in a climate-controlled office
