Job summary

ARCO/Murray is seeking talented individuals for Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager roles in Nashville. You will coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects from preconstruction through closeout, collaborating with clients and design teams to shape concepts and budgets.

The position emphasizes teamwork, integrity, and career development on the PM path, with exposure to diverse projects across commercial and multifamily sectors.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 1-5 years of construction management or engineering design and management experience.
• Experience leading ground-up or large TI projects in commercial, industrial, energy, hospitality or multifamily sectors is preferred.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, Procore and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Collaborate with clients and design teams to develop preliminary drawings and budgets.
• Participate in client meetings to review scope, costs, and value engineering ideas.
• Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout for trades and vendors.
• Identify opportunities to procure materials or equipment to fit budget/schedule.
• Work with project superintendent on subcontractor scopes, schedule, and logistics.
• Lead preconstruction planning meetings with design teams and trades.
• Lead on-site meetings to review progress and address challenges with the client.
• Track project performance vs budget; prepare pay applications and reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of the project from the earliest stages of preconstruction through project closeout.
• Work closely with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget.
• Participate in the proposal meeting with clients to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees.
• Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors.
• Identify and investigate opportunities to procure material and/or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to project budget or schedule.
• Work with Project Superintendent to develop and review subcontractor scopes of work/contracts, project schedule, and site logistics plan.
• Lead preconstruction planning meetings with all designers, subcontractors and vendors aimed at solving potential constructability, sequencing, and/or manpower issues.
• Lead weekly/bi-weekly OAC meetings on-site once construction begins to review progress and address challenges directly with client.
• Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 1-5 years of construction management or engineering design and management experience (APMs, PEs, and Engineers welcome to apply).
• Previous experience leading ground-up or large TIs for commercial, light industrial, energy, hospitality, multifamily and community living, or entertainment construction projects is preferred.
• Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, Procore and Microsoft Project.
