The purpose of this position is to provide project management and direction from inception to completion of both internal and consultant projects, including Alternative Delivery and other complex projects. To be the primary contact in concert with the Project Management Administrative Engineer and Assistant District Engineer for other public agencies, special interest groups and the public regarding project activities. Establish effective long-term relationships with local units of government and other stakeholders.
Provide overall direction and leadership to both internal and consultant technical project teams in the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques in the management of project activities for minor, moderate and major scale projects to meet the project requirements. Ensure consistency with MnDOT strategy, commitments and goals; and to ensure proper program execution and compliance with MnDOT, state and federal procedures, practices, regulations, and standards.

Licensure as a professional engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID). (If obtaining licensure through Comity, a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.)
Three (3) years of post-registration engineering experience at the Engineer Senior level (or equivalent) in all phases of program delivery including scoping, pre-design and final design.
Previous project management experience and advanced knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques and tools.
Advanced knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, techniques and methods.
Advanced knowledge of contract administration.
Advanced knowledge of critical path scheduling theory and applications, and scheduling software such as Artemis Project View (APV) or Primavera P6.
Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of conflict management, negotiating and consensus building.
Knowledge of MnDOT policies, procedures and state/federal rules and regulations.
Knowledge of the roles, responsibilities and authorities of local, regional and state units of government in transportation related areas.
